For the public-spirited Nike Davies-Okundaye – or Mama Nike, as she’s come to be known – being a celebrated textile-art innovator wasn’t enough. An activist passionate about creating opportunities for women in her native Nigeria, she’s used her international acclaim to weave a wide network of creative hubs across the country – among them, one of Africa’s largest galleries.
